Lining up the first squad. Some weapons need to be removed and replaced with proper ones. I'm glad I used superglue on these guys instead of poly, those things just snap off :) I have to add a bolt pistol to the Sergeant and a second heavy bolter. Also a vexilla.

I have the 40k marines with heavy bolters as a backup in case I cannot get enough 30k ones. I should have 3 plastic ones and one resin (the Minotaur event only miniature) It fits will with the style Sigismund has on his armour.

The road to Heresy Doubles 1 - 10 minute Hobby Progress

I'm on the hobby road to finishing the 30k Imperial Fist army I started last year. The marines saw three games of unpainted shame, the next game they're in will be with fully painted honours.

I have limited time most days so I'm aiming for at least a 10 minutes hobby progress each day with occasional 30 minute and 1 hour painting sessions. The 10 minute sessions should let me get everything ready to go for the longer ones, if everything is set up I can just sit down and paint straight away, no messing around for 10 or 20 minute before hand looking for tools, paints or models.

Terminator progress and starting some Horus Heresy Imperial Fists

I've got some updates for a Crimson Fist Terminator squad, I have to do some more for the small parts and then move on to a wash. I'd like a stone effect for the inner section of the shield but I don't have the painting skill to do something effective so I'll go with a solid colour.

It's a kit I've had for awhile and after some tactics coverage from the Eye of Horus podcast (Episode 29 @ 1:14:00 mark) I've gone back to them. I've also pledged them to the Imperial Fists expansion on Bolter and Chainsword and plan to use the airbrush "recipe" that Krakenfiend posted in the thread.

1. Prime White
2. Use air brush to base coat model with Vallejo Model Air Golden Yellow (71.078)
3. Use air brush to apply thinned down Vallejo Model Air Burnt Umber (71.040 thinned 2 parts thinner to 1 part paint) to the models recesses and areas that would have a natural shadow (like the bottom of the thunderfire cannon side skirts).
4. I apply an oil wash in the recesses and around bolts to define these areas better.
